16:46: progress in various directions
My passport is apparently in a diplomatic bag between Dublin and Ottawa, or may already have reached Ottawa.

I have had a splinter removed from my foot, which is certainly the quickest actual action relative to length of wait therefore I have experienced from a doctor.

Autumn is coming and I am having to wear a shirt over my t-shirt, drat it.

Workwise, there are more weird disc oddities, and we lost a chunk of the internet weirdly this afternoon; I could see google and lj but not the server I was trying to work on, which is physically less than thirty metres away. This was apparently a whole-university problem. (In not totally unrelated news, gosh that latest xkcd is a timesink.)

When waiting for nellorat to have an interview with her previous employer, I sustained a splinter in one buttock that had to be medically removed. It turned out to be symbolic.

I know! I chose to abandon that xkcd strip on the theory that it was implicitly recommending I go outside, so completism could be interpreted differently. This was not before exploring a whole lot of underground tunnels, however.

Yay the travelling of passports (hopefully soon to be followed by the travelling of passport-owner), and the removal of splinters, still ouch.

I choose to interpret progress as generally good. Hooray for passport! Hooray for splinter removal! Hmm, it seems that autumn isn't as much a hooray for you as it is for me, but for me it's a big YAY AUTUMN!! And, uh, wee, work oddities? Okay so the theme falls down completely there.

I am a summer person, who likes to bask in the heat; the turn at the end of summer always gets me down for a week or two.

It seems that, without actually doing anything intentional in this direction, I have acquired a large number of friends who are autumn/winter people.
